KESC fails to respond to power failure complaints

15 Apr, 2004

Interrupted power supply in different parts of the city continued to irk the citizens as KESC failed to respond to complaints on Tuesday.
A large number of complaints about repeated interruption in power supply from various localities of the city were received on Tuesday.
Badly affected areas included Burns Road, Sindh Secretariat, Garden East, Guru Mandir, North Nazimabad etc.
People complained that despite their repeated calls to KESC complaint centres no one bothered to address the problem.
However, when KESC's spokesman was contacted to explain the situation he said that there was no major power breakdown in the city but due to faults occurring in one of KESC's Jacob Lines transformer and carrying out of the consequent rectifying operation temporary shutdowns in some parts of the city resulted which were already notified.
He said that fault in the transformer forced the KESC management to shift the supply load to its other transformers during the repair work.
