Eight die in van-truck collision

As many as eight persons, including a man and his son were killed and 10 others seriously injured when a speeding van collided with a truck here on Thursday.
The accident was so severe that the van was completely damaged, and it had to be cut to take the passengers out of it. The van was on way from Mansehra to Rawalpindi.
Witnesses said that four persons were killed on the spot, and as many breathed their last in the hospital. The injured were taken to different hospitals of Mansehra and Abbottabad.
The dead included Khurram Shehzad, Gulab Shah, Gul Zeb, Mohammad Idrees, Mohammad Arif, Baitullah, Mansoor Khan and the van driver Gul Shahzad.
Those who were injured included Tariq of Sialkot, Akbar son of Zaman, Shumaila daughter of Abdur Rehman, Sarwar Khan son of Juma Khan, Muhammad Farooq son of Fazl-ur-Rehman, Enayatullah son of Amanullah, Dilawar son of Gul Zaman, and Damaan.
People in large number rushed to the accident site, and helped in the rescue work.
