DPO told to take action against police officials

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the District Police Officer (DPO), Lahore, to take action against Sub-Inspector Mian Najam Tauqir and other police officials for keeping Ijaz Ahmed and his brother Faisal Mustafa in their illegal custody.
The court, while allowing bail to detenue, observed that the petitioner could proceed against the respondents.
The court, which also found some columns unfilled in daily registers of the Police Post North Cantt, further directed the DPO to hold inquiry into the matter, and take action against the delinquents under the law.
Petitioner Faisal Mustafa has approached the court against respondent police officials.
The court appointed bailiff who informed the court that the detenue were found in the custody of the respondents.
He also informed the court that the daily registers were found incomplete and the detenues were beaten severely by the respondents.
The court, after examining the bailiff report, bailed out the detenue and directed the DPO for holding inquiry against the respondents.
