Message from Investment and Privatisation Minister

21 Apr, 2004

I am very delighted to know that the 3rd IGATEX Pakistan exhibition is being held at the Karachi Expo Centre from 21 - 24 April 2004.
Since this show is based on the success of the previous two shows, it is hoped that IGATEX 2004 would also proved to be an overwhelming success.
From an investment perspective, events such as IGATEX play a vital role in the development of a country.
They provide domestic investors with further ingenuity to improve their existing businesses and at the same time they act as a catalyst to the foreign investors to visit and explore new ideas and markets.
With most of the textile and garment sector based in Karachi, it is an ideal place for holding such mega trade events.
Considering the inevitably of reforms and the uplift of the country's textile and the garment sector, the Government in encouraging the local and foreign companies to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of the raw materials and finished goods.
Due to the participation in this event, the presence of a large number of professionals in Pakistan is very heartening and I would like to take this moment to wish all of them a very pleasant stay and every success in their future business dealings.
I am quite happy that a local company in conjunction with a foreign firm has shown such interest in the development of Pakistan's economy by holding such successful events. I wish them every success.
