24 Apr, 2004

Nawabzada Asrar Ahmed Khan, younger son of ARD's founder Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, Nazim of the City Union Council, Muzaffargarh, managed to attain the support of 27 out of total 49 members and foiled the bid of the ruling party MNAs and MPAs to dislodge him.
Nawabzada Asrar Ahmed Khan said: "Shahid Jamil Qureshi, MNA, Kaswar
Langarial, Farooq Khar, Imtiaz Aleem Qureshi, MPAs, Sardar Shakir Dogar,
president of PML-Q, and Khalid Waheed, Naib Nazim of the City Union Council, are plotting against him with the support of the administration." But the Nawabzada said he still enjoyed the support of majority of the house.
He alleged that his opponents were creating hurdles in the way of development works and maligning him because he flatly refused to join the PML-Q.
