Message from Prime Minister Islamic Republic of Pakistan

26 Apr, 2004

One of the purposes of setting up the Pakistan Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) was to assist budding industrial concerns in solving their problems of research and development through indigenous solutions.
Over the decades, the Council has been performing its function silently and in a spirit of dedicated services and has enabled innumerable entrepreneurs to tide over their research difficulties.
I have been particularly pleased by the recent example in which the Council's experts made it possible for Marva Beverages (Private) Limited to transfer the technology of producing concentrate for carbonated beverages.
This means saving of considerable foreign exchange and is bound to provide may more job opportunities.
The co-operation is also expressive of the confidence that our industrial firms have in the expertise and high scientific capability of the PCSIR. I believe that the testing of every batch of concentrate and beverage by the Council's laboratories will be a guarantee for their purity and quality according to international standards.
In this conclusion, I must welcome the decision of Chairman of Marva Beverages, to donate 20 percent of the profits for educating deserving Children of a poor community, as a gesture of appreciation for PCSIR's scientific contribution. I wish the under taking all success.
