The Prime Minister informed the committee that rail and road links are being constructed to provide greater access to Afghanistan to Gwadar Port.

Referring to the country's important role in global war against terror, the Prime Minister said that for this purpose Pakistan is paying a heavy price.
Referring to the attempts made on the life of President Musharraf, he said: "After 9/11, President Musharraf took very bold decisions and joined the international coalition in the war against terrorism.
Despite constraints, we will continue our efforts to eliminate this menace in order to make the world peaceful and worth living," said the Premier.
Commenting on the internal situation, the Prime Minister said, we have changed the whole complexion of politics by introducing a culture of tolerance and accommodation.
"Contrary to the previous practice, no member of the opposition has been harassed or victimised. Members belonging to the opposition have also been provided with equal funds for undertaking development schemes in their respective constituencies," he added.
The Prime Minister said that the government was endeavouring to consolidate the democratic institutions and promoting a healthy democratic culture both inside and outside the Parliament.
"We give due regard and respect to all elected members of the Parliament", he maintained.
