Islamabad Policy Research Institute President Professor Dr Pervez Iqbal Cheema has said that Kashmir is the core issue in Pakistan-India relations and talks between the two countries will succeed, if the Kashmiris are involved in the process.
He was addressing a seminar on 'India-Pakistan relations: the new phase', organised by the Pakistan Study Centre at the Punjab University here on Tuesday.
Cheema said favourable environment, need to realise the ground realities, establish principal framework and need to accommodate each other sensitivities were the prerequisites for negotiations.
Speaking on the occasion, PU vice-chancellor Arshad Mehmood stressed the need for conducting research on diplomacy and conflict resolution.
