The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have offered short duration free training course to the officers of the National Highway and the Pakistan Motorway Police.
The Inspector General, National Highway and Motorway Police, Zia-ul-Hassan Khan told APP here on Thursday that first batch of senior officers comprising DIG Mohammad Azam Khan, SSP Mian Mohammad Asif and AIG Colonel Ehsan have left for Canada for the 10-day training.
He said our patrolling officers are already getting modern professional training in Germany, adding: "We have so far sent three batches of 48 patrolling officers for a two-week course in response to a German offer."
The officers would be imparted training on regulating heavy volume of traffic and provision of First-Aid to travellers in case of accident or an emergency, he said, adding they would also be trained how to track down highway robbers with the help of modern detecting equipment for the safety of road-users.
