National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat on Thursday asked the establishment division to introduce administrative reforms in the civil services, which ensures a sustainable and a healthy change in the attitude of civil servants.
Standing committee on cabinet secretariat met under the chairmanship of Ahmed Raza Maneka, here in the Parliament House.
Secretary establishment division briefed the committee about the organisational structure and functions of the division as well its attached departments.
He informed the committee that the main functions of the division include regulation of all matters of general applicability to civil posts in connection with affairs of the federal government, policy and administration of all Pakistan unified grades, the office management group, training in public administration, career planning and management of civil servants and administrative reforms.
He specially mentioned the achievements of training institutions under the establishment division, which had considerably contributed in imparting training to the officers and officials of the federal as well provincial governments.
The chairman directed the establishment division to specially focus on the imparting Information Technology training to the civil servants to meet the present day challenges.
The members of the committee were of the view that the basic idea of proposed reforms should be "serving the masses".
