Local agriculture department has initiated a survey to ascertain the exact loses caused to wheat crops by the recent rains in Sialkot, Pasrur and Daska tehsils of Sialkot district.
Official sources told Business Recorder here Thursday here that as many as 0.465 million acres of land was brought under wheat crops in Sialkot district.
The recent rains had damaged the wheat crops at the reaping time, while in some areas at harvesting time in the district, they said.
As a result, the wheat growers were facing serious problems, including financial crisis, they said, and expected to complete the survey soon.
