The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has slammed the government for not allowing entry to former Chief Minister Punjab and PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif on arrival in Lahore on Tuesday.
The bar in its meeting held with Ahmed Awais in the chair also condemned those elements which supported this illegal action of the Government of Pakistan. The bar expressed the resolve that this act of the government was violation of Supreme Court judgement in Shahbaz Sharif's case.
The bar also resolved that refusing entry to a Pakistani is also violative to the fundamental rights of a citizen.
While addressing the meeting, Ahmed Awais, Chaudhry Aitzaz, Dr Farooq Hassan, Sabha Sadiq, Rana Mashood and others said that those responsible for this illegal action must be taken to task. They said this action of the government was illegal, unconstitutional and without lawful authority.
They said lawyers would continue their struggle for strengthening the democratic institutions and independence of the judiciary.
