The White House said on Tuesday that President George W. Bush plans to re-nominate Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan to a fresh four-year term at the helm of the US central bank.
Bush also was to meet with Greenspan "momentarily," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters.
"Alan Greenspan has done a superb job as chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve system and I have great continuing confidence in his economic stewardship," McClellan said, reading a statement from Bush.
