Punjab Assembly offers Fateha for Karachi blast victims

Punjab Assembly session that commenced 10:35 am, on Tuesday on a point of order of MPA Rehana Jamil offered Fateha for the persons killed in a terrorist incident in an Imambargah of Karachi recently.
Deputy Parliamentary Leader of Opposition Arshad Mahmood Baggo speaking on a point of order asked Education Minister Imran Masud that despite order of Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to close schools in the Province on May 29, 2004, the education institutions were still open in the Province.
In an adjournment motion moved by MPA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar that despite allocation of money by the authorities to construct an underpass at Railway Line on Samma Satta, there was no development on the project despite elapse of half a year.
MPA Syed Ehsan Ullah Waqas presented an amended bill of Punjab Council of the Arts in the Assembly. The chair put the bill before the Assembly Committee, on the occasion.
Colonies Minister Manazar Ali Ranjha dealing with a privileged motion presented by MPA Rana San Ullah averring on activities of Qabza Group in Faisalabad stated that had called District Revenue Officer for the purpose, a solution to satisfaction of parliamentarians will be found on the subject, he added.
Senior Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja speaking on a point of order mentioned a news item in which it was alleged that the concerned minister was not attending the assembly proceedings as required. He said it was unfortunate, as he always remained present in the Assembly from beginning to the end in every assembly session that was held so far, he added.
MPA Chaudhry Asghar Ali in an adjournment motion on collection of flat rate of Abiana in areas of Bhakkar, Liah, Mianwali and Khushab said that figures presented in the Assembly by Minister Irrigation with reference to this were incorrect.
MMA MPA Dr Wasim Akhtar speaking in a question &answer session on Auqaf Department in the Assembly asked the Department to form a committee to check wrong rituals and actions of certain people during URS of various saints in the Province.
PML-N MPA Shaikh Ijaz speaking on a Point of Order in the assembly showed dismay that amount promised to a family that was victim of roof disaster in Faislabad was not fulfilled. The relevant minister pledged to deliver the requisite on the occasion.
