Committee reviews cases of human rights violations

Provincial Human Rights Monitoring Committee meeting headed by Kishwer Shaheen Awan at the Regional Directorate of Human Rights, Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights, Government of Pakistan, here on Thursday, reviewed various cases of human rights violations received through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and pending with the police department.
The meeting had discussed with specific reference to cases pertaining to incidents of rape, torture and those relating to blasphemy laws, said a spokesman of the directorate.
Deputy Chief of Protocol Local Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Secretary (Special) Home Department, Government of the Punjab and officials representing the police department attended the meeting.
