More than 172 varieties of mangoes have been displayed at the 39th Mango exhibition inaugurated by Syed Muzaffar Shah, speaker Sindh Assembly at Horticulture Farm here on Friday.
Large number of mango growers are participating in the exhibition. The popular varieties includes siroli, zafran, langra, dusheri, snider, ghulan khasa, sawarnrica, chausa, beganpali, anwar ratol, alphanso, saleh bhai, and nelum.
Large number of fruit exporters expressed their interest in varieties which includes sindhri, (known for its fragrance and test), chausa, beganpali, anwar ratool and sawarnarica.
The Director General Agriculture Extension and Research informed the speaker that the mango has great potential of export and to exploit the potential an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) is being set up at Mirpurkhas to meet the international quality standard.
