Relief work was under way Sunday after a devastating storm killed 21 people and injured 25 in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The storm swept through the Gonda district of the state late Friday, senior police official Amitabh Thakur said.
"Heavy damage was caused by the storm," which cut a 10-kilometre (six-mile) swathe, he said.
Most of the victims died when they were crushed by falling trees.
"The administration is busy supervising relief work. We hope to normalise life within a couple of days," Thakur said.
