Federal government is spending an amount of Rs 944 million on the construction of roads network in Punjab.
Chief Engineer, Pakistan Public Works Department Alam Zaib told APP here on Monday that nearly 85 percent of the total development funds allocated by the federal government have been utilised while remaining would be used during the current month.
He said the government has allocated equal development funds to all members of the National Assembly, which he added are being utilised through PWD.
He said funds are being released directly to the executing agencies like Wapda and Sui Gas for the provision of electricity and Sui gas.
Alam Zaib said special teams would monitor the quality and the construction material used in the development projects. He warned of strict action in case of any malpractice and added that the concerned contractors would be blacklisted.
