Rs 1.29 billion uplift projects approved for AJK

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet Development Committee (CDC) has approved the development projects of Rs 1.29 billion.
Besides approving the construction of new 15 kilometre roads in different constituencies in seven district, CDC also approved Rs 140.4 million for completion of 4.8 MW Bethar Hydel power station and Rs 130.75 million for electrification of villages near the Line of Control in Hattian Bala sub-division in district Muzaffarabad.
AJK Prime Minister Sardar Sikander Hayat Khan while presiding over the CDC meeting directed ministers and the heads of government departments sternly to prepare new fiscal year budget on the basis of district and constituency population so that no area of the state be left undeveloped.
The CDC meeting was attended by Senior Minister Syed Mumtaz Ali Gillani, Minister local government and rural development Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan, Forest Minister Mufti Mansoorur-Rehman, Minister for Electricity Sardar Mir Akbar, Minister for Education Chaudhry Muhammad Aziz, minister agriculture Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Health Minister Sardar Muhammad Yaqub Khan and various high officials of government.
Prime minister told the committee that development projects of $One billion under Asian Development Bank (ADB), for the which an ADB fact finding mission has been visiting AJK since last month, will be started in October this year.
Sikander Hayat asked the concerned departments to complete all the development projects within stipulated time period and maintain the standard of work.
He advised the authorities not to include the new development schemes in Annual Development Plan (ADP) instead of including them into ongoing schemes.
