Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal has developed a concept paper for Saarc village project.
According to information reaching here on Wednesday, this paper has been designed with the objectives to build, strengthen, promote and market goods produced by women entrepreneurs of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (Saarc) region through effective networking.
The concept paper has been prepared in line with the objectives of Saarc Women Entrepreneurs Council (SWEC), a body working under Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The village project will encourage standardisation of products and services to meet the quality. Besides this project will serve as the information resource center concerning products and services of Saarc women entrepreneurs.
This will also promote product upgradation and serve as a platform for exchange of skill and training programme in entrepreneur-ship development.
A selection committee will be formed under the project for selection of products to be retailed from Saarc village.
Retail outlets will be set up at strategic locations in Saarc countries, showcasing specialised products of the region.
Similarly, a warehouse will be created as storage facility for import and export of products among Saarc countries.
SWEC will undertake the responsibility of identifying the working counterparts in the Saarc region.
Saarc village will be managed by women entrepreneur group of parent body.
