The amount of pension to government pensioners as well as the private pensioners was simultaneously enhanced some three years ago when the cost of living had gone up.
In the second half of last year again, the prices of kitchen items crept up and the pension to government pensioners was discussed in parliament whereupon the amount was increased by the Prime Minister from the beginning of the new year 2004.
But the pension amount of private pensioners remains the same since long.
Why has the action of the Prime Minister not been applicable to the private pensioners too, when the EOBI is making profit by purchasing huge multibillion estates, out of the amassed giant funds of the private pensioners?
