Argentine sales of 2003/04 corn totalled 5.975 million tonnes by June 11, up from 5.945 million tonnes the week before, the Agriculture Department said on Monday.
By the same date last year, corn sales totalled 6.69 million tonnes.
Argentina reported sales last week of just 30,000 tonnes of corn to unspecified destinations.
The government's sales data refers to corn seeded starting in August 2003, the harvest of which began in February 2004. The US Department of Agriculture forecasts that Argentine exports of 2003/04 corn will total 8.5 million tonnes.
