Funds of incomplete schemes won't lapse, National Assembly told

The National Assembly was informed on Tuesday that funds earmarked for incomplete development schemes proposed by the parliamentarians would not lapse and will be used during the next fiscal.
Federal Minister for Industries and Production Liaquat Jatoi expressed these views while responding to a call attention notice by Gul-e-Farkhanda.
Gul-e-Farkhanda expressed grave concerns over the non-completion of development schemes, which were announced by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.
Responding to her query, Liaquat Jatoi said that Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali has issued strict directives to complete these schemes in time.
He assured the House that funds of incomplete development schemes proposed by the parliamentarians would not lapse and will be used in the next fiscal year.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Umer Ayub said that there were few schemes, which could not be completed in time.
He said schemes of gas supply to rural areas were not initiated on time due to lack of gas pipes or other equipment.
He also assured following directives from the Prime Minister the government will try its level best to complete these development schemes.
