A Fokker aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was "slightly damaged", which after normal landing at Chitral airport on Wednesday encountered some technical snag due to which it could not be stopped on the runway and overshoot into the overrun area.
All the passengers and crew were "safe and disembarked normally", a PIA press release said in Karachi. The authorities concerned are investigating the incident.
The press release said PIA's Chitral bound flight PK-660 departed from Peshawar on Wednesday. The aircraft was "fully serviceable at the time of departure and even the weather was good."
