Huge potential exists for export of precious stones and jewellery from Pakistan, as jewellery manufactured locally is no lesser than international quality with regard to design.
This was stated by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Mian Anjum Nisar while speaking at the stall booking function of 'Jewellers Asia 2004' an exhibition of gems and jewellery being arranged by the chamber, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.
He asked the government to devise a policy for boosting gems and jewellery export.
He said the LCCI had invited delegates from India, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Sri Lanka and UAE to introduce Pakistani craftsmanship to them. He called upon the jewellers to fully participate in this exhibition.
