'Crafts Village' of an international standard would be established in the provincial metropolis, where craft-persons from all over Punjab could market their products.
Punjab Social Welfare Minister Sughra Imam said this while chairing a departmental meeting here on Wednesday.
She further said that her department in collaboration with the tourism department would take steps to attract tourists to visit the proposed crafts village.
"All industrial homes would be made self sufficient, so that they could generate their own finances," she added.
According to her, the department would issue mark-up free loans up to Rs 5,000 to skilled women under the micro credit scheme.
