Problems confronted to the newly established University of Gujrat (UoG) would be resolved on priority basis so that people of the area could get higher education.
Punjab Education Minister Mian Imran Masood expressed these views while presiding over a high level meeting held to review the affairs of University of Gujrat.
The minister said it was a matter of immense pleasure that the Punjab auqaf department has provided an area of 911 kanals for the university campus. He also said that the post-graduate classes should be started in the university soon. He directed the secretary higher education to contact the Punjab finance department for release of requisite funds allocated for the university.
The Vice-chancellor of the University of Gujrat, Imran Cheema briefed the participants that university was at the initial state of establishment. Education department has appointed Irshad Hussain Naqvi, Managing Director, Punjab Teachers Foundation, as project director of the university.
As a first step, classes of M.Sc. psychology would be commenced in the university and buildings of 11 academic blocks, library, admn block, staff residences and laboratories would be constructed on priority basis.
