Sialkot police have set up 15 check-posts in Sialkot, Pasrur and Daska tehsils for checking the activities of suspected persons while police have been directed to keep an eye on anti-social and anti-state elements in the district, said District Police Officer (DPO), Sialkot, Nisar Ahmad Saroya.
Talking to media persons here on Tuesday night he said that the step had been taken after recent bomb blast in the city and security had been tightened and these check-posts would play an instrumental role in checking the activities and movement of anti-social and anti-state elements and help reducing the crime rate.
The DPO said that SHOs of Sialkot district have been strictly directed that they should adopt adequate measures for minimising crimes in their respective areas for ensuring protection of life and property of the people.
The District Police Officer warned that slackness of SHOs in unearthing serious crimes would not be tolerated and they would be removed from their post for inefficiency immediately.
Nisar said that delay in registering cases in police stations would not be tolerated, and added that strict action under law would be taken against persons involved in this malpractice.
