Rahim rules out replacing Sindh governor

Sindh Chief Minister Ghulam Rahim has ruled out any political crisis in Sindh or change of governor. However, he said that if the system failed to run smoothly, either the assembly would dismember or governor rule would became inevitable.
He said that law & order and water were among his top priorities. He said that efficient police officers would be encouraged and be extended all co-operation against criminals like Shahbelo in Sukkur in the Katcha and mountainous areas of Larkana.
The CM said that he had not brought any package for Larkana as he had come to make the Muslim Leaguers start working in union and with zeal and renewed passion for the new president of Sindh PML.
Chairing a meeting on law and order Rahim stressed upon police officers that law and order situation must be improved. He promised rewards for efficient policemen but at the same time he warned that stringent action would be taken against the black sheep in police.
He directed police officers to make transfer and posting on merit. He said that protection to life and property of people was the utmost duty of police which should be carried out devotedly.
He said that adequate planning, both short term and long term, was needed to ameliorate law and order in Karachi. "It can not be corrected with a magic rod in a blink of an eye."
He negated the impact of having problems in the formation of cabinet. About the demand of bifurcation of big district as was planned in Mahar government, the CM said that this was also demand of people and added that smaller administrative units helped maintain administration.
Rahim said that unemployment could only be eliminated with the co-operation of private sector.
However, he said, in this regard micro credit scheme would soon be launched to extend loans to jobless without interest or a nominal mark-up.
Earlier, talking to a delegation of PML Larkana, the CM urged them to forge unity at district level and added that MPAs were being provided with equal funds so that they should make effort for the uplift of province.
The CM said that he was having a thorough tour of the province in order to bring the Muslim Leaguers closer and to see what can be done for the well-being of the people in various parts of the province.
The delegation comprised Shabbir Chandio, Altaf Unnar, Sultan Khuwar, Dr Hmeeda Khuhro, Masood Khuhro, Asghar Rashdi, Sarfraz Pechoho, and Ali Raza Rashdi.
