No alms to professional beggars: Naimat

21 Jun, 2004

Awareness would have to be created among masses not to give alms to the professional beggars.
Many members of good families were forced by economical hardships to beg. These views were expressed by City Nazim Naimatullah Khan in a programme titled "Beggary or Short-handedness" on a TV channel.
He said that professional beggars came to thoroughfares to beg in taxies. He said we should try to know those poor and needy people who did not want to beg. He disclosed that the beggars who were caught during the campaign had from one hundred to five thousand rupees in their pockets.
He said that people should give alms only to the needy persons.
