China takes pride facilitating ministerial level talks between Pakistan and India, scheduled to take place here in east Chinese coastal city.
"We are glad to be the host of the first meeting between Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri and his Indian counterpart Natwar Singh, said Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman, Zhang Qiyue.
Talking to APP, she said "Both Pakistan and India are good friendly neighbours of China and we would like to see normalisation of their relations.
We hope that the resumption of talks between the two countries would pave the way to promoting peace, stability and development in the whole region," she added.
Zhang said, China is always prepared to play a positive and constructive role in bringing normalcy in the Pakistan-India relations.
The two foreign ministers will meet over a working lunch, on the sidelines of the Asian Co-operation Dialogue (ACD) conference being held in Qingdao from June 21 to 23.
This will be the first high-level meeting between the two since the change of government in India. According to the diplomatic sources, though, it will not be a full-fledged ministerial-level meeting between the foreign ministers of the two nuclear nations, the very fact that they are using a multilateral forum for a bilateral meeting augurs well for India-Pakistan relations.
