Former president, Sardar Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari on Monday met Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and felicitated him on assumption of office of Sindh Chief Minister-ship.
Sardar Farooq Leghari, on the occasion, hoped that appointment of Dr Arhab would prove a ray of hope for the people of Sindh. He will serve as a bridge between urban and rural people and results thereof have started appearing.
He noted the long and short term planning being carried out by Chief Minister and said there is room for reforms and there is need to give people hope.
He described the steps being taken by Dr Arbab as towards a right direction and observed that he is keen to establish good governance.
Leghari observed that Chief Minister is carrying all political parties along with him, which is a good and positive approach.
Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim said that MQM is a partner in the coalition government and he sees no wrong ahead. He said Pakistan needs stability and unity.
He pointed out that President Pervez Musharraf too has advocated good governance and has asked the PML leaders to go to people and solve their problems. The present provincial government, he said is working with a team spirit along with its coalition partners.
He emphasised that answer to every issue lies in dialogue and he and Sindh Governor are working with hand in hand.
He said that politics and democracy are run more in a better way through consultations. He announced that he would carry the people along with him and would go home if he failed to solve their problems and redress their grievances.
He said that MQM has said nothing to him and their members are with him whereas all matters are being handled with consultation.
Later Dr Arbab hosted a luncheon for Sardar Farooq Ahmed Leghari. MPA Nadir Akmal Leghari was also present on the occasion.
