The Institute of Bankers Pakistan is holding a Business Breakfast Forum on June 24, 2004 at 8:00 am in order to get deep insight into current and future trends in the agriculture sector.
Istaqbal Mehdi, President, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has been invited to speak on the subject. Business Breakfast Forum is one of the new initiatives, which give one opportunity to listen to the top rated industry leaders, specialists and scholars.
Agriculture sector is the largest sector of our economy. With its present contribution to GDP at 23.3 percent it accounts for 42 percent of the total employees' labour force and is the largest source of foreign exchange earning. Considering the importance of this sector the federal budget 2004-5 has suggested significant steps and allocations. To improve the productivity and overall prosperity the President of Pakistan has also announced a package for this sector.
Later on June 25, the IBP will also hold a lecture on "Risk Management - A Formidable Task." Suleman Chaghla, Head of Risk Management Division of State Bank of Pakistan will deliver the lecture. The programme is part of IBP Friday evening lectures series. It will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.-PR
