Provincial Culture and Youth Affairs Department, in collaboration with Unesco, is organising a seminar on 'Policy for the Preservation and Promotion of Culture' here on July 6.
Provincial Information Secretary, Taimur Azmat Osman told APP on Thursday that Unesco was assisting member states in formulating a comprehensive cultural policy to safeguard their tangible and intangible cultural heritage and cultural diversity.
"This programme is in line with the Common Country Assessment (CCA) and the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) agreed between the Government of Pakistan and the United Nations in 2003", he said.
During the course of the daylong seminar, Director-General Punjab Institute of Languages, Arts and Culture, Shehzad Qaisar will present paper on "Revival of Punjab languages and culture". Faqir Syed Aijazuddin on "Cultural identity of Lahore and its significance for Punjab" and Shahbaz Khan Director Punjab Archaeology on "Archaeological Heritage of Punjab."
