A 60-member delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), led by its chief Mian Anjum Nisar left here Thursday for Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
The delegation will arrange a three-day single country exhibition of Pakistani products in Dushanbe, which will be inaugurated by Tajikistan President, Emomali Rehmanov.
According to Anjum Nisar, besides old and experienced exporters, new and medium exporters have been given representation in this delegation to encourage them. Around 80 percent of the delegation members were participating in an exhibition abroad for the first time due to efforts of the LCCI.
This exhibition is arranged on self-help basis without any government support, he added.
Basic objective of this exhibition is to ensure introduction of Pak products in a better way to win their share in the international market.
He said that the present LCCI leadership was playing due role in enhancing country's exports.
In order to give a boost to exports, LCCI delegations had already visited India, China, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kenya and South Africa. All these visits were made on self-help basis.
Tajikistan exhibition would include products in textile, readymade garments, paints, steel furniture, handicrafts, auto filter, rice, food products, surgical goods, pharmaceutical, office stationery and others.
He hoped that Pakistani exporters would get export orders through this exhibition.
