Pakistan Railways (PR) announced changes in the schedule and stopover of two of its trains.
According to two separate announcements, 39-Up, Jaffer Express would have a two-minute stoppage at Lalamusa railway station. The decision would take immediate effect and would remain in force for a period of three months. The PR administration has also changed the schedule of 6-down Tezrao from June 28. Now the train will leave Rawalpindi railway station at 2:50 p.m. instead of 2:30 pm, and it would reach Lahore at its old time i.e. 8:25 p.m. while on its onward journey the train will observe the previous schedule.
Meanwhile, according to a spokesman of the railways, General Manager (Operations) Aurangzeb Khan distributed cheques of pension and other emoluments amongst 64 retired employees and widows of deceased employees of Lahore Division here on Saturday.
The function was held in the office of Divisional Superintendent Railway and cheques worth Rs 12.5 million were distributed.
It is worth mentioning that the GM after assuming his charge had directed the accounts department to immediately pay the dues of retired employees. He said that completion of record of a retired employee was the responsibility of division or department concerned. Earlier, retired employees were facing difficulties but now they had started receiving their dues within one month after their retirement, railways spokesman added.
