He said that Shaukat has a record of glorious achievements to his credit. He has played the pivotal role in striving to accomplish President Musharraf's economic agenda which he had unveiled in December, 1999.
"As Advisor to the President from November 1999, and Minister since 2002, Mr Shaukat Aziz has worked untiringly at the Agenda aimed at 1) Stabilising country's debt situation by restoring macro economic stability; 2) Revival of economic growth; 3) Reversal of the trend of increasing poverty; and 4) Improving the governance."
Fudda said that in the 21st century developing countries has a greater need of top stewardship possessing strong economic background and hands on experience. He hailed Shaukat's statement on Saturday that "Pakistan faces many challenges and we all have to work together to ride out those challenges. Now there is a need to move forward and achieve the status of a developed and prosperous nation of the world."
The KSE MD said that on the one hand, Shaukat's understanding of domestic issues and his qualities of cool composure and willingness to listen to the other person's view would strengthen the country's democratic structure, while on the other, the international standing and reputation that Shaukat Aziz enjoys would further raise Pakistan's image in the eyes of international community.
"Right from the beginning, Shaukat Aziz has been extremely supportive of Pakistan's capital market, and we look forward to more of the same as he embarks upon his illustrious career as Pakistan's 22nd Prime Minister," said the Managing Director of KSE.
