Suspected Mujahideen overnight shot dead a pro-Indian politician and a policeman in continuing violence in Indian occupied Kashmir, an occupation police spokesman said on Monday.
Bashir Ahmed, a local-level politician of the pro-India National Conference party, was shot and wounded at a bus stand in the Khag area of central Budgam district, the spokesman said, adding that Ahmed died in hospital later.
In Srinagar, Mujahideen shot dead a policeman late Sunday, the spokesman added.
Freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir has left some 45 people dead in the past week, including 12 villagers gunned down in the south as they lay sleeping.
Most of the victims were the members of puppet government-backed village defence committees.
