The Government Trading Corporation of Iran (GTC) on Thursday said it bought 15,000 tonnes of Malaysian refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm olein following a buy tender issued earlier this week.
The GTC said on its website (www.gtcir.com) that it made the purchase on Tuesday, a day after launching a buy tender for between 10,000 and 15,000 tonnes of the RBD olein, plus or minus five percent.
It said it had agreed to pay $465 a tonne for the olein, basis C&F to any one Iranian southern port during August.
Iran last week bought 14,000 tonnes of Malaysian RBD palm olein at $461.50 per tonne, basis C&F Iranian southern ports, for July 15-August 15 shipment.
