The pet bottles plant of Ali Akbar Group, the biggest business group of Pakistan dealing in pesticide sector, on Friday formally started its production.
While addressing the inaugural ceremony at Pak-China Chemicals Plant Raiwind Road here, Chief Executive Ali Akbar Group Ijaz Muhammad Khan said that sometimes packing of high quality pesticides in substandard bottles affects the purity of the pesticides.
This plant will help a lot in maintaining the highest quality standards of pesticides.
He said this plant is one of the biggest plant of its nature in Pakistan, which is equipped with state-of-art machinery duly approved by the Coke Beverage Company.
Among others, Advisor to Chief Minister, Punjab, Colonel Shuja Ahmad Khan (Retd), Central Chairman Pakistan Crop Protection Association (PCPA) Ijaz Ahmad Ch, and German Engineers attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab Colonel Shuja Ahmad Khan (Retd), Director of the group Shafaat Ahmad Khan and Engineer Asif Lone said that set up of computerised pet bottle plant with huge capacity of producing 200,000 bottles daily will not only facilitate the local pesticide industry but will also help in meeting the increasing demands of local beverage, pharmaceutical and mineral water industries.
They said that annual growth of pet bottles in the country is increasing, as the market share of pet bottles which was only three percent few years ago has now increased to 18 percent. They said that annual growth of pet bottles is around 20 percent.
