President General Pervez Musharraf has felicitated the nation and the family members of Amjad Hafeez on his released on Friday from hostage in Iraq. Talking to ARY and GEO TV channels, he said the Amjad's release was very pleasant news for the whole Pakistani nation.
President Musharraf also advised the Amjad Hafiz's captors that capturing and cold-blooded murder of innocent people was against the teachings of Islam.
He said that their religion did not allow committing such types of crimes against either the Muslims or non-Muslims. He urged that innocent, people should not be captured and assassinated brutally as those activities bring bad name to Islam.
The President said, "Amjad is an innocent man and belongs to a poor family and is the only bread earner of his family."
On Pakistan's inclusion in Asean President Pervez Musharraf said that country's inclusion in the Asean's Regional Forum (ARF) reflected Pakistan's respect and stature it enjoyed not only in Asia, but also in the entire world.
Talking to Geo TV, he described it as a major diplomatic success and recognition of Pakistan's stature, reforms and economic progress.
Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain also expressed his pleasure and satisfaction on the release of Amjad Hafeez and said it does not behave Muslims to indulge in such activities and bring a bad name to their religion.
"We are extremely happy that Amjad Hafeez has been released and the captors by releasing him have taken a good step," he said.
