Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in a meeting here on Friday has said that a master plan was being evolved for construction of new roads as well as improvement of existing roads in the provincial metropolis.
The chief minister informed that about 14 interchanges would be built on Lahore Ring Road as an amount of Rs 5.0 billion had so far been spent on construction of different roads in the Punjab.
He stated under Ring Road project, repair and renovation of Ravi Road, Ferozpur Road, Multan Road, Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, Canal Bank Road and Jail Road would also be undertaken.
Pervaiz Elahi said that an overhead bridge on railway crossing would also be constructed under the project. He stated that there were one million registered vehicles in the provincial capital, whose number was ever increasing.
