Police claim lead in Binyamin murder case

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations and Investigations, Chaudhry Shafqaat Ahmad in a press conference on Friday here at Police Lines Oilla Gujjar Singh claimed to have found an important clue about killers of Pir Binyamin Rizvi.
"We will soon arrest the eight-member gang involved in the killing of Pir Binaymin," he said.
To a question regarding by-election for PP-156 being held here on July 3, he said that city police would take all possible measures to maintain law and order situation during the election.
In view of increasing incidents of vehicle snatching in city, the SSP said they were re-organising anti-car snatching teams deputed at various police pickets.
After the registration of FIR of car snatching or lifting, the officers of Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff (VLS) would immediately investigate the case, he explained.
He said that DSP Rai Zameerul Haq, on SP Organised Crime, Rana Munawar Ahmad Khan's directives, arrested 18 criminals and recovered 23 cars from their possession. Of those, 20 were recovered from Lahore district and three from other districts. He hoped that other gangsters would be arrested soon.
The arrested persons are Nayyar Kamran, Muhammad Afzal, Ghulam Nabi, Muhammad Rafiq, Pitras Masih, Tariq, Sartaj and Muhammad Ashfaq. Capital City Police DIG Tariq Saleem Dogar announced cash reward for the investigation team.
