Teaching and training institutions not affiliated with the Sindh Board of Technical Education are once again reminded to get themselves registered with the board or prepare to face punishment.
It has been notified on Friday that under the statutory power, Sindh Board of Technical Education is responsible to control, develop and regulate technical education below degree level within its territorial jurisdiction throughout the province.
Institutions imparting training in any technical field without recognition of the SBTE is a cognisable offence under section 14-B (I) of SBTE (Amendment) Ordinance, 1957 and defaulters are liable for one-year imprisonment or fine Rs 50,000 or both.
Students and parents have been advised to be careful while taking admissions in such private institutions not affiliated with the SBTE. It would save them from future embarrassment.
