President Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) Adeel Rauf has welcomed the NWFP government decision regarding the exemption of five Marla houses of the property tax, saying that the step would give relief to both poor and middle class and particularly small traders.
In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that the SCCI in its budget suggestions has proposed the exemption of three and five Marla houses of the property tax, which he said has been accepted by the provincial government with this announcement.
He said that the passage of the provincial assembly resolution and recommendations of the Nifaz-e-Shariat Council would usher in good results.
The SCCI chief said: "The provincial government of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) is giving due importance to the business community and playing an effective role bringing stability in the economy of the province." However, he said that the government should also pay attention to the resolution of the some important problems being faced by the business community.
Adeel Rauf expressed the hope that the provincial government would take the Sarhad Chamber and other business communities into confidence before making economic and financial policies of the province.
