Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday said the government was making all out efforts to promote the spirit of tolerance, amity and accommodation in the society.
He was talking to former Jamat-e-Islami Chief Mian Tufail Muhammad at Markaz-e-Islami here in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister remained there for some time and exchanged views with him on various matters including promotion of sectarian harmony and religious tolerance in society.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain underlined efforts of the government to promote culture of tolerance and accommodation in line with the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah (PBUH).
He called upon all schools of thought to help end sectarianism and religious extremism and project Pakistan as a forward-looking, progressive and tolerant state.
Minister for Religious Affairs, Ijaz-ul-Haq and Health Minister Nasir Khan were also present on the occasion.
