The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has announced the procedure and documents required for the issue of visa recommendation letter for exporters seeking visa from foreign embassies in Pakistan.
According to EPB press release issued here on Saturday, the exporters seeking visa recommendation letters will have to follow a prescribed procedure and provide necessary documents duly attested by their respective trade associations in support of their applications, which will facilitate the exporters.
Following are the procedure and documents for Visa Recommendation letter:
(i) Current membership certificate of the relevant association/chamber, a request letter from the association/chamber addressed to EPB, copy of NTN of the exporter, copy of passport, samples/brochures of the product intended to be marketed.
(ii) The relevant association/chamber will be asked to provide an undertaking that the applicant will return back, if the applicant failed to provide all the necessary documents regarding his case. In case where the letter of recommendation is in favour of an employee of the exporter, the exporter may be asked to provide a bond for his return.
(iii) To establish the bona fides of a businessman or exporter, any two of the following conditions may be fulfilled by the applicant (a) Copy of letter of credit (L/C) from the country for which visa is requested or if the L/C is not available, the bank certificate testifying that export orders were fulfilled by the company for the intended country in the last three years or if bank certificate is not available, then copies of correspondence with buyers in the intended country.
(iv) If the correspondence is not available, then any invitation letter from the intended country or evidence on passport of previous visits to the intended country or export performance certificate with value for the last years from the exporters bank or in case of a new exporter bank's statement of business turnover for the last year in Pak rupees or acknowledgement of the samples by exporter to the foreign buyer.
