The Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi while meeting a delegation of District Bar Association Gujrat here on Sunday said that lawyers were playing an effective role in promotion of justice and institution of democracy in the country.
He said it was unfortunate that vested interests by their malicious designs had endeavoured to misdirect the community from their original work of commitment.
Pervaiz stated that it was for the first time that on the directions of President Pervez Musharraf construction of buildings of District and Tehsil Bar Associations has been initiated.
"Provision of libraries for lawyers by the provincial government throughout Punjab is another milestone step to promote lawyers' community", Pervaiz Elahi added.
