Experts and analysts on Saturday urged the government to take appropriate measures for the effective marketing of products being manufactured in small industrial units across the country.
They were speaking at the second day of three-day partners' assembly "Good Governance and Empowerment of People" organised by "Sungi Development Foundation" here.
The prominent among those who spoke on the occasion were Pakistan People Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) central leader Chaudhry Aitazaz Ahsan and civil society activist Tahira Abdullah.
They asked the government and community people to encourage these units by providing them all the necessary requirements to boost corporate culture at grass roots level.
They also stressed the need for community-based participatory efforts for the economic empowerment of oppressed classes of the society.
Speaking at the occasion, Aitazaz Ahsan underlined the importance of participation of small scale industry in the economic mainstream of the country and urged to establish linkages between small and large industries.
By effective marketing of the products being produced in these small-scale industries' Aitazaz said, hefty foreign exchange could be earned.
"By encouraging these industrial units, we can grab maximum benefits of available resources," the PPPP leader told participants of the assembly.
The people from various spheres of life including journalist, lawyers, community based organisations' representatives and civil society activists attended the assembly.
Tahira Abdullah also stressed the need for the participation of oppressed classes in the decision of policy matters to remove the sense of deprivation of them.
