AJK holding children's mountain meet

The Third National Children Mountain Conservation Meet will start in AJK under the aegis of the AJK Tourism Department in collaboration with 'Adventure Foundation Pakistan (AFP).
School children from selected educational institutions of Pakistan and AJK would arrive in Muzaffarabad on Monday.
The participants reached Abbottabad on Saturday evening where their registration and orientation is being done.
Abbottabad had been declared as the base camp of the event where participants have been divided into four groups who left for physical activities in the surroundings of the base camp on Sunday.
AFP experts would give in-depth briefing to the participants on arrival in Muzaffarabad. The children would visit the historical Neelum Fort in Muzaffarabad and afterward groups A and B would depart for Daokhan near Leepa valley, and groups C and D for Sudhan Galli on the border of Muzaffarabad and Bagh districts.
The groups would start eco-projects from Tuesday in their respective sites such as study of lifestyle, study of flora and fauna, tree plantation and cleaning and setting up waste management systems.
On Thursday, the groups would interchange their areas and repeat similar activities over the next two days.
On Saturday, July 11, the children would arrive in Garhi Dopatta, some 25 km south of here, where a joint camp would be held under the aegis of Kashmir Institute of Public Administration.
River rafting, followed by a cultural evening has also been scheduled for the same day. The participants would leave for Murree on July 11, from where they would move to Islamabad for night stay in the Youth Hostel.
On July 12, certificates distribution ceremony will be held in Islamabad after which the children would depart for their home destinations.
